Mr. Okon and his remarkable wife have been devoted members of the Fight Against Poverty and Lack Multipurpose Cooperative Society (FAPALCOOP) since 2017. Back then, life was an everyday struggle, with dreams of owning a place to call home, a stable income source, and a brighter future for their children.
FAPALCOOP, a community-driven initiative focused on economic empowerment, offered
various services, including financial assistance in the form of loans, enabling members to
initiate or expand their businesses. Mr. Okon and his wife recognized this opportunity as a lifeline, one they eagerly seized.
Upon joining the cooperative, they knew it was a step in the right direction, but they couldn’t foresee just how profoundly it would transform their lives. The cooperative was more than a financial institution; it was a close-knit community built on the principle of uplifting one another.
